It all started when...

We had our first baby and all of our friends told us we'd have to stop traveling so much. They said we'd have to stay home more and get used to a slower life with routines. And, that was partly true. Our life did change a lot when we had our first baby, but we vowed to not let it get in the way of our love of travel. So, when she was four weeks old we set out on a plane and introduced her to the beach. Next, we took her camping overnight in Yosemite at three months old. Then, at four months she went to Mexico. Over time we added two more girls to our family and we kept traveling and adjusting to life as a family of five. Traveling became our way to connect and bond as a family.

My husband and I both spent our young adult years living abroad in foreign countries (Germany, Russia, and Honduras for him and Spain, Israel, and Tokyo for me). We strongly believe that travel and exposure to new cultures helped us become global citizens and we want that for our children.

Our first international adventure was a three week trip to Europe with our girls (ages 2, 5, and 7). We spent time in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Malmo, London, and Paris. We loved it so much that we then took our kids to Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest the following year and then Beijing, Yangshuo, and Shanghai the year after that! We hope some day to live abroad together and we definitely plan to keep traveling in the meantime.
